When i brought it home 4 years ago:
So, before we get into tear down and rebuild, i gotta say why i tore into it. I was on my way to the airport to pick up my wife(then GF). On the way, the rear tire tread on the passenger side ripped off at 65MPH and tore half my bed off. So i came home and put it in my dad's shop with plans to Body Drop, V8, and rebag it. Well not too long after that i got married and funding went out the window lol... So I finally got the job where i am now and progress has been pretty steady. During tear down i noticed a lot of problems. Pinched Brake line. the bed had been shimmed up about 3 inches, bed was cracking, bed sides weren't straight, compressors were mounted under bed(where water and dirt had been kcked up on them and they actually seized), etc.

So here's progress pics:
Engine: 355ci Chevy Engine, Keith Black pistons, 280H comp Cam, Edelbrock Air-Gap intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carb, 9.5:1 Compression(so i can put a procharger on it later), etc etc. Guy i took it to said on paper, it'll be over 400HP as it sits.
Got rid of heat to run a smaller hot rod heater from summit. So i made a nifty lil plate to cover the holes:
Redid the frame behind the axle. Welded tank to frame and made compressor mounts:
Prettied up and suspension all on:
Wheel wells welded up in front:
frame painted, firewall primed:
i have everything to drop the motor in, polyurethane mounts, rad and fans, however my dad rented out his shop so i had to move the truck to his house. Waiting for spring so we can clean out his garage and put the truck in to continue work on it.
I have a white board here behind my computer, split in two with "S-10" on one side and "ACCORD" on the other with lists of things i need lol. So my list goes like this:
NEED TO DO:
- Relocate Front Shocks
- Install B&M Shift Kit in Trans
- Drop In V8
- Plumb Air
- Replace Interior
NEED TO BUY:
- 3spd Ratchet Shifter
- Exhaust Piping
- Fuel Cell
- Summit Heater
- Drive Shaft(shorten)
- New Brass Fittings
About $1000 and countless hours of work away from being back on the road, which is my goal.
