ok im switching my choice in head units from what i was gunna get which was the sony cdx-m800 to a pioneer DEH-P850MP just cuz i heard pioneers were the best in head units for good sound systems from just about everyone i know who had somethin to say bout them...THey all said that sonys looked nice but lacked in abilities...I was about to get an eclipse or alpine, but none of em looked as nice as the pioneer...and i am very strong in it having to look nice if imma buy it...so i ended up notcing and wanting to buy this...http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4041_35390,00.html

But i noticed pioneer calls it a "premier" head unit...and i was wondering if anyone knew what it meant and like if there is any big and better difference between it and the one not called a premier which is a DEH-P8500MP and is cheaper...http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4039_38309,00.html BUT, looks exactly the same, except for the word premier is not on it.

Oh and i dont see a place where u would put a CD in...does this mean that u have to buy a seperate CD changer to put in the back of ur car and go through all that crap wiring and spend more money in the process...or do i just not notice the slot for CDs and its hidden in there somewhere?

Any help would be great, cuz its kinda expensive and i want some input and knowledge from some people who may know alot more then me in this field of stereos and systems, before i blow my cash...Thanx.

basicly the only diff

is the tuner (the premier is better)
the remote that comes with the HU
and a few other little things

let me know when you are gonna buy i will meet or beat most all prices(execpt e-bay)

i just sold this deck to another member that said it was a great deck and thats why he wanted it

i am gonna ask him to rate its overall performance once he gets it installed

the face plate should slide or fold down to put a cd in. you wont need to add a changer unless you want to.

*edit* this is not really 4th gen specific so im moving it to the audio forum, you will get more looks/help there.

face slides down just a little bit to reveal the cd slot. Premier cd players also have longer warranty and a different screensaver

I don't think I'd pick a pioneer over an eclipse unit. Eclipse HU's are EXTREMELY nice. They don't have the asthetics that pioneers do, but they are some of the cleanest sounding HU's on the market. Def. go w/ the eclipse if your looking to compete and shit like that.

The premier offers 4 volt pre-outs, a better cd mechanism, better build.

actually the none premier also has 4volt pre outs
cd mech is the same
better build could also be agued

but one thing is the radio is the higher supertuner III vs IV
tv controller
and a few other misc options
