Accord Door Handle Installation

The following instructions are merely one suggested method for installation. There are other ways to properly install your inner door handle. T.A.S. Auto Parts is not responsible for faulty installations. Labor claims will not be acknowledged. If you are not familiar with the processes listed below, please seek the help of a professional automotive technician.

1. For this tech tip we will be using the front passenger door on a 97 EX.

2. Start by prying open the screw cover on the handle.

3. Use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw.

4. Gently pull the door handle forward towards the front of the car, then inward away from the door panel.

5. Unplug the wire harnesses by pushing down on the clips.

6. Using a flathead screwdriver push the clip off of the rod and pop the rod up out of the handle.

7. Using a phillips head screwdriver remove the switches that are held in with 4 screws and install them on the new door handle.

8. Plug the wires for the window switch and the door locks into the new door handle.

9. Install the lock rod and push the clip back into place.

10. Install the new handle into the door panel.

11. Lock the handle into the inner door panel by pushing it back towards the rear of the car.

12. Re-install the retaining screw and put the screw cover back in place.
